Disney is generally known for its fairy tale princesses. But this summer, guests visiting Downtown Disney® will be treated to a genuine royal treat: a new exhibition titled “DIANA – The People’s Princess.” Opening in early July 2009, this limited-time experience showcases the life and story of one of the most iconic and inspirational figures in recent history, Princess Diana. Displayed in a 17,500-square-foot setting at Downtown Disney® West Side, across the street from Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa, the exhibition will showcase a sampling of the royal dresses she chose to auction for charity, as well as hundreds of authentic artifacts relating to her life. Among the items on display include the famous black velvet “V” dress seen in Princess Diana’s official royal portrait, as well as a Royal Doulton figurine of Diana wearing an exact replica of her wedding dress.
